Pinching My Nerves

Welp, you know that stiff neck I encountered at the beginning of the week? I woke up two days ago and it was worse. Much worse. Every movement I made sent my neck into spasms of excruciating pain.

I got in the shower to run hot water over it and decided, while I was in there, I might as well soap up and wash my hair. Needless to say, washing hair with a stiff neck is a trying process. Getting the shampoo in my hair was only half the battle. And don’t even talk to me about trying to get soap out from under my chin. Glossy hair commercial, it was not.
Yeah. Not this.
Anywho, despite how much I despise pain in any form, it was an educational experience seeing how various individuals acted in response to this event. Let Expressive Kitty demonstrate:

Here is a professionally drawn portrait of me with a stiff neck.

Here were the reactions:
My Parents both rose to the occasion as Superheroes
The guy who picked up my doctor's phone was infuriatingly calm.
My lovely friends sent me electronic support.
My Heat Pack tried to murder me.
My Roommates' Cat was a tad unsympathetic.

And that was just before I went to my parent’s house, where I encountered this...

My Dog was a little too sympathetic...

Someday, that cat will love me as much as my dog does.

Since this stiff neck is completely uncalled for, I would really like to know the cause. My doctor said that it was probably a result of me sleeping in a foreign bed while in Boston. Or from sleeping on the bus. Or from sleeping in some sort of a weird position. My parents think I made it worse by running on a treadmill the day after it happened and lifting weights. Only I know the truth.

I’m a bit of a health nut, but not as much as my sister who really, really likes to eat healthy foods. Foods in which I don’t necessarily indulge, such as Kale. My first full day in Boston, she and I cooked dinner, which was chicken, noodles, and a bunch of vegetables. So, naturally, the evidence overwhelmingly leads to one conclusion: the Kale did it.
BEWARE.
